Conferences XIth International Workshop on the Technology of Inherently Conductive Polymers Hilton

News for Users: Microdisc Electrode Arrays (MDEAs)MDEAs are single electrodes wherein the contact between the conductor and the electroactive material under test is made through a series of tiny microdiscs arranged in a hexagonal close packed array; compared to the traditional single surface contact. Microdiscs of 50, 100, and 250 microns are microfabricated from 100 nm magnetron sputter-deposited Gold (Au), 100 nm e-gun vapor-deposited Platinum (Pt), or 100 nm Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) on an electronics grade borosilicate glass substrate. A 500nm thin insulating silicon nitride layer is applied over the conductor and that insulator is microlithographically windowed using reactive ion etching to reveal an array of microdisc-windows as awell as a single bonding pad to the conductor beneath. Great for transient electrochemistry, immobilized enzymes, electroactive polymers, polyelectrolyte layers and carbon nanotubes.
