About Dr. Anthony Guiseppi-Elie, Sc.D.
Dr. Anthony Guiseppi-Elie serves as Associate Dean for Engineering and Innovation in EnMed (Engineering and Medicine). He is TEES Reseach Pofessor of Engineering, Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in The College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. He directs the Center for Bioelectronics, Biosensors and Biochips (C3B®). He is Founder, President and Scientific Director of ABTECH Scientific, Inc., a nearpatient biomedical diagnostics company. Dr. Guiseppi’s research interests are in minimally invasive engineered bioanalytical microsystems in the service of human health and medicine. His specific areas of scholarship are: bioelectrochemistry and bioelectronic devices, implantable bioactive hydrogels for the healing of chronic wounds, in vivo biosensors for the management of trauma-induced hemorrhage, and DNA biochips for biomedical diagnostics and prognostics. Dr. Guiseppi-Elie has published over 150 archival scientific papers (6222 citations, h-index = 41), 31 book or proceedings chapters, holds 8 US and foreign patents, and has given in excess of 250 invited lectures/colloquia. Dr. Guiseppi has been a principal investigator on over $20,000,000 funding of sponsored programs, gifts, and contracts including a recent $3,280,000 award from the US Department of Defense. Dr. Guiseppi is Editor-in-Chief of Bioengineering, an Associate Editor of Biomedical Microdevices and member of the editorial boards of The Journal of Bioactive and Compatible Polymers, NanoBiotechnology, and Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
